In the 2020s the female birthrate starts to decline. By 2059 only one newborn in twenty is female. What a story! Poor girl, young Catherine, gets kidnapped at age 14. Then kidnapped again! What else can happen to her. Her mother is frantic with worry over her missing daughter for years and years! There is so much more I want to say, but I'd be giving away the plot, which is a masterpiece in my mind! Imagine women having to stay indoors, too afraid to go out without a couple of male escorts, even to a high school dance! or out to dinner - or anywhere! This is quite the plot, readers, and you'll love it! The ending makes me think there will be a sequel...?I highly recommend Where Have all The Young girls Gone. It is very thought-provoking. You won't be disappointed!

Where Have All the Young Girls Gone? This is a truly fascinating and highly plausible conundrum. The writing sparkles. I had to keep reading to see how this dilemma would be resolved. The story is entertaining and quite thought provocative. You'll be glad you read this book.
Poorly written. I couldn't get through it. Just plods along. Will not purchase another book from this author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced futuristic novel which transports us to a time in the not-too-distant future where the birth of females is declining worldwide. As it decreases to only 10% of births, the societal dynamic changes drastically. We find a world filled with men with no wives,and too much pent up sexual energy who turn to all manner of violent activities. Women become prisoners in their homes or risk rape, kidnapping or sale on the black market. I kept wanting more as the story combines the scientific quest to prevent human extinction with the travails faced by the women we meet in this thought-provoking 'what if?'. Highly recommend!
I enjoyed the book but was disappointed by the ambiguous ending. Would like to see a sequel if one ever becomes available.
